NOC L2 Engineer

Objective:

Looking for a candidate of NOC-L2 candidate who can direct the activities and performance of their respective NOC team in the various regions. This integral role will work closely with the NOC team Leads to devise and implement NOC process, documentation, training, and strategy. Working closely with the data center manager and network infrastructure team lead.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating the NOC team. The main aim for this coordination is to ensure that the networking system runs efficiently without interruption.
  • Troubleshooting the problem and resolved on priority and share proper RCA.
  • NOC L-2 oversees the work of junior employees to ensure that system requirements have been properly implemented and procedures carefully followed.
  • Responsible for informing Manager, partners and peers about network performance and service availability
  • Monitoring the network on NMS.
  • Coordinate with Telco & fiber vender, engineers and the whole technical team
  • Coordinates the duty shift table for the NOC operations and carefully allocates staff members (NOC technicians and NOC engineers) on different shift duties for ensuring the whole NOC shift works in an efficient and effective manner.
  • To ensure maximum possible service availability and performance
  • Apply various troubleshooting methods to track down complex technical problems

Key skills:

  • 3+ years of experience working in data centers / ISP with an emphasis on Network and Systems operations center (NOC)
  • Knowledge and experience of system and network infrastructures such as LAN and WAN network technologies, MPLS, enterprise performance and fault monitoring tools.
  • Self-disciplined, self-motivated and the ability to organize and prioritize time effectively.
  • Ability to manage and handle a team
  • Underlying awareness of the bigger picture
  • Willingness and ability to learn new products and network technologies quickly, often without the focus of formalized training.
  • Be able to communicate about networking issues effectively and in a comprehensible manner both to clients and employees

Educational Qualification:

  • Any Graduate.
  • Technical Certifications - CCNA, or other industry related certification.
  • 2 – 3 years of NOC L-2 /Supervisory experience required, preferably in a contact centre environment.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have experience or in-depth understanding of network protocol & technology.
  • People leadership and direction experience. For example, shift scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary, hiring, etc
